Oh the places you'll go...

So, in light of my last post, I'm going to share with you the places that I want to travel before I die. The ones with pictures are my top destinations, so...without further adieu, my travel bucket list.

1. Seattle:
As mentioned last night, there's something about the culture there. Something about the birthplace of Starbucks, the setting for my favorite books and the mix of big city and 90s grunge music. I wanna go. Bad. Plus, they have a very famous farmer's market...what else can a girl want?

2. California:
When I say California, I mean LA, San Diego and San Francisco. I want to see the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. See the Hollywood sign, famous hand prints in cement and a celebrity or two. I also want to go to the San Diego zoo, Disneyland and the Golden Gate bridge. One day!!

3. Italy:
Ah Italy. Wonderful food, wonderful scenery, famous attractions, wonderful food. Yes I know I mentioned the food twice, but hey, authentic Italian food is worth mentioning more than once! Also, I've always wanted to see the Mediterranean Sea. Not sure why, I think I decided I wanted to see it when I learned how to spell it. Who knows.

3. Hawaii:
Do I really need an explanation?

4. Australia:
Home of the late Steve Irwin, Nemo and Dory!! Let's go mate! Crikey!!

So those are my top places. Also included in my traveling dream are Ireland, England, and all 50 states. So where do you want to go? Sweet dreams kids!

Love,

I'm going to try this again

I know I've neglected this whole blog idea, but I'd like to start it up again. Who knows what will come of this, but oh well!!

So recently (and by recently, I mean in the past few months) I have decided to do a complete overhaul of my life. So far it's working pretty well. Want to know what's changed? Here we go.

First, I quit my job. Yep, I quit. It was too stressful for it to be just a temporary job. So, what's a girl to do? I started looking for other jobs, but nothing was working out, then I emailed my old boss at Ticketmaster. Now I'm back there. It can get boring, but I can promise you one thing, I'm so much less stressed! I don't cry on a daily basis, I don't have crazy mood swings, I laugh! Thank you TM!!

Second, I moved. My grandma is the GREATEST and has let me and my sister live in my great-grandma's home rent free. Oh how I love her! This has been such a relief! It's nice to actually be able to save some money. Besides, there's so many memories here from my childhood that I love it!

 (I love my grandparents!)

Next step? I quit school. Yep. You heard me. I quit. I didn't want the degree I was getting, I had gotten behind in classes and was miserable, so I quit. See ya later Marshall Grad School!!

(Don't worry, I still bleed green!)

Next...I start school in the fall. I am getting the degree I want to get. It's not a master's or another bachelor's, but it's what I want and I'm going to be happy with it! I'm going to get an Associate's of Applied Science in Gerontology. Who knows what I'm going to do with it after I graduate, but I'm excited! Best part? It will only take me 2 semesters to get the degree! Kanawha Valley Community and Technical College here I come!!

Now that you've got that about me, I'll share a little secret. OK, it's not a secret, but that's OK. I have a dream of travelling. I have places like Hawaii, LA and Italy that I'd love to hit up, but are they the first on my travelling list? Nope. I don't know why, but I am dead set on going to Seattle.

Something about the way of life there...it's something I want to experience! I'm saving my money and one day I will go! I just need to find someone to go with me who doesn't mind flying for that long and wouldn't mind taking a 4 hour trip once we're there to Forks so that I can be all Twilight fan-girly. I seriously can't wait to go!

Alright, I think I'm going to bed. Gotta work in the morning! Thanks for reading!

Love,

tick...tock...tick...tock...

“Those who wait upon the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles.” With promises like this, why is it so hard to wait? God promised that all things will work together for good for those that love him, so why is it so hard to let him fulfill those promises? I’ll tell you why. It’s because we’re human. Humans, especially in the 21st century, a time of instant gratification, are horrible at waiting. Ever have to sit in line at a drive through and think “Good grief when is this going to move?” Yeah, I thought so. Have you ever actually timed that wretched wait? More often than not it’s 3-5 minutes. Seems like an eternity doesn’t it? When my grandparents were growing up, the only meal you got in 3-5 minutes was some uncooked potatoes and rare meat…maybe. I heard a study once say that in this day and age when someone has to wait 5 minutes or more at a fast food joint, then their overall satisfaction of the location is significantly lower than those who had to wait less than 5 minutes. With impatience like this, it’s no wonder we have such a hard time waiting on God. God has no time line. No 30 minutes or less or it’s free, no hot and ready pizzas (which, by the way, are I’m sure heaven sent) and no nuke-your-food-and-be-eating-dinner-in-two-minutes deals. God sees time in the matter of forever. Yeah, forever. Like, no beginning, no end, forever. Hard to wrap your  mind around isn’t it? God sees what is best for you 10, 20, 30, 80 years down the road, not what you want now. It’s really hard to think, “Now what could I do now that would really benefit me when I’m 92?” I don’t know about you, but I’ve got so much going on now that I can barely think about what I have to do tomorrow or this time next week, let alone in the year 2077. Maybe if we could see things the way that God sees them, with what will be best for your life and to help those around you, we’d be more patient and willing to wait on God’s promises. Go ahead, I’ll wait for you to begin living life that way. I’ve got all eternity.
